Sector-specific security training helps organisations move beyond abstract awareness and develop a concrete, practical understanding of the risks they actually face. This is exactly what our client, UK Space Agency, recognised when they approached us to design a resilience training seminar for Surrey Research Park at the University of Surrey.
The Park has significant ties to the space sector, including handling sensitive research, and partnerships and data connected to national and commercial space operations. With a growing public profile, and the sector's threat landscape growing increasingly complex, they wanted to ensure their teams were well-equipped to navigate it.
PGI worked closely with the client to understand their environment, their people, and the risks most relevant to them. The result was a bespoke training programme that gave participants a concrete, actionable understanding of the threats they face.
The team shared that they left the session feeling empowered to recognise and respond to threats and have conversations about how to strengthen their existing security practices. They gained a clearer understanding of both subtle and long-term strategies employed by nation states against organisations like theirs, helping them move from abstract concepts to relevant, concrete threat awareness.
"PGI took the time to listen and learn about our environment and the team they would be delivering the training to. This resulted in a training session that resonated and informed participants, helping them feel prepared for potential hostile threat actors, and empowered to respond appropriately to protect the Park's community."
- Benjamin Wilson, Head of Communications, Surrey Research Park, University of Surrey
