Want a new career for 2017? Consider Cyber Securit...

It’s 2017 and as we all get back into the swing of things some of us may be thinking about a change in career. With demand for cyber security professionals at record highs why not make the leap into one of the fastest growing sectors in the world.

Fancy a Change?

Whether you’re a graduate just out of university or an IT professional with several years’ worth of experience under your belt, now is a great time to get into the cyber security field. With the increase in the use of IoT devices and the increased media attention of the issue of cybercrime, demand for security professionals in the cyber security field is likely to grow rapidly over the next few years.

Number of Cyber Security Positions Set To Soar

Job roles such as penetration testers and security engineers are in high demand and people with the right qualifications and skillsets can demand good rates of pay and perks due to companies being desperate and willing to compete with one another to snap up the best talent.

A Cisco report released in January last year showed that there were a million cyber security job openings across the globe. A separate report by Symantec meanwhile, predicted that the number of available of jobs in the sector will surpass six million globally by 2019 with a shortfall of 1.5 million.
